SUMMARY:Doprovodný program k výstavě Jak mluvit s oblačníky / How to Talk to the Weather Demons
DESCRIPTION:~ For English scroll down ~ \nPřijměte naše pozvání na doprovodný program ke skupinové výstavě Jak mluvit s oblačníky ve čtvrtek 23. dubna od 18 hodin. \nČeká vás komentovaná prohlídka výstavou s kurátorkou Joannou Glinkowskou a křest drobného katalogu k výstavě. \nNásledovat bude setkání s Katarzynou Roj\, programovou ředitelkou BWA Wrocław\, která bude hovořit o přírodně-kulturních prostorech\, v nichž voda působí jako primární činitel regenerace. Na základě zdánlivě nesouvisejících příkladů – od léčebných rituálů v dolnoslezských sanatoriích až po přírodní čistírnu odpadních vod ve Vratislavi – bude Roj zkoumat\, jak voda podporuje odolnost jak v ekosystémech\, tak v lidské psychice. \nPo skončení setkání se ponoříme do estetiky Polska v období komunismu a vydáme se po stopách Asa (Ace)\, superhrdiny na misi vyřešit bizarní záhadu zmizení vody\, ve filmu „Hydrozagadka“ (česky Hydrozáhada) režiséra Andrzeje Kondratiuk z roku 1970. \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \nPragovka Gallery se nachází v přízemí 1. zálivu E Factory. Objekt je od centra vzdálen 15 min. Metro B – Kolbenova\, tram – Poštovská. \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \nProjekt je realizován s finanční podporou Ministerstva kultury ČR\, hl. m. Prahy\, Státního fondu kultury ČR\, Ministerstva kultury a národního dědictví Polské republiky a městské části Praha 9. Spolupořadatelem projektu je BWA Wroclaw Galleries of Contemporary Art. Partnery projektu jsou Adam Mickiewicz Institute\, Polský institut v Praze\, Polsko-japonská akademie informačních technologií a Cabinet of Wonders. Účastí na této akci automaticky souhlasíte s uveřejněním fotografií na webu Pragovka Gallery a Facebooku a Instagramu Pragovka Gallery. \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \n~ English ~ \nYou are warmly invited to the accompanying programme of the group exhibition How to Talk to the Weather Demons on Thursday\, 23 April from 6 pm. \nThe evening will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition led by curator Joanna Glinkowska\, followed by the launch of a small catalogue. \nThis will be followed by a meeting with Katarzyna Roj\, Programme Director of BWA Wrocław\, who will discuss nature-culture spaces where water acts as a primary agent of regeneration. Drawing on seemingly disparate examples – from health rituals in Lower Silesian sanatoriums to the natural sewage farm in Wrocław – Roj will explore how water fosters resilience within both ecosystems and the human psyche. \nFollowing the meeting\, we will dive into the aesthetics of communist-era Poland\, retracing the steps of As (Ace)\, a superhero on a mission to solve a bizarre mystery involving disappearing water\, in the film Hydrozagadka (1970)\, directed by Andrzej Kondratiuk. \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \nPragovka Gallery is located on the ground floor of the 1st bay of E Factory. The building is 15 minutes from the centre. DESCRIPTION:V úterý 28. dubna 2026 od 18 hodin vystoupí v dolním sále Ústavu pro českou literaturu AV ČR (Na Florenci 3\, Praha 1) Brian Goodman (Institute for Advanced Study\, Central European University; Arizona State University) s přednáškou nazvanou „The Nonconformists: American and Czech Writers across the Iron Curtain“. \nVstup na přednášku v angličtině je zdarma a bez registrace. \nAnotace:How did risky encounters between American and Czech writers in communist-era Prague shape the literary politics of the Cold War era? In the 1970s\, the novelist Philip Roth regularly visited “the city of Kafka\,” where he befriended Ivan Klíma\, Milan Kundera\, and Helena Klímová\, and established the influential paperback series “Writers from the Other Europe.” This is just one episode from a much wider history of literary exchange across the Iron Curtain. What can this history tell us about the translation of literature into dissent?
