SUMMARY:Prague Fringe: Pip Utton - Hunchback of Notre Dames
DESCRIPTION:Fringe legend Pip Utton returns to Prague with what he considers to be one of his most beautiful scripts. Quasimodo keeps vigil over the lifeless body of Gypsy dancer\, Esmeralda. This Hunchback is no caricature\, but a sensitive soul;  rejected at birth as an abomination\, raised lovingly by the cathedral’s archdeacon but cast out  by the people of Paris\, because he is misshapen and ugly. He looks down on Paris from his home\, the lofty tower of Notre Dames\, only the bells and gargoyles for company.” Perhaps God doesn’t love me” If Beauty is only skin deep\, isn’t ugliness the same? \n‘Rare and beautiful’ (Three Weeks). ‘Achieves beauty in its simplicity’ (Stage). ‘Beautifully crafted\, absolutely compelling’ (EdinburghGuide.com) \nfar beyond any star rating a reviewer might give’ Theatreparadijs.nl

SUMMARY:Prague Fringe: Fred MacAulay - Good Evening
DESCRIPTION:For reasons outwith his control\, Fred had to cancel his 2025 Edinburgh Fringe shows and his Autumn Tour – “Fred MacAulay: No podcast – LIVE”. Now\, thankfully\, due to reasons completely within his control\, he is now preparing to hit the road in 2026 with the 2025 show repackaged and updated and simply called “GOOD EVENING!”. \nSo what happened? Simply put: Fred suffered a freak accident and then an unrelated prostate cancer diagnosis. Is there humour in either of these? In the words of a famous Scotland footballer “Maybes Aye\, Maybes Naw”. \nNow in the fourth decade of his comedy career\, Fred MacAulay still loves being on stage doing what he does best – quite simply it’s STAND-UP and his appetite for performing is as strong as it was all those years ago when he took a massive side-ways step from a career as an Accountant and Company Secretary into the world of entertainment.

SUMMARY:Prague Fringe: The High Priestess - Johanna
DESCRIPTION:After its acclaimed success in Italy\, with special mentions and nominations at the Milano Off Fringe Festival\, The High Priestess – Johanna makes its international debut in Prague. \nA powerful anthem to female emancipation\, an initiatory journey that weaves together history\, legend\, and spirituality. An epic and timeless tale\, inspired by one of the most enigmatic cards of the Tarot’s Major Arcana: a symbol of deep knowledge\, boldness\, and power. \n“The woman who wants to know is dangerous… The woman who knows is even more dangerous.” \nIn the heart of the Middle Ages\, Johanna is a rebellious—and dangerously so—woman: she studies\, travels\, defies every law\, and disguises herself as a man until she makes the impossible possible: becoming Pope. \nA symbol of freedom and disobedience\, she claims that the right to know has no gender and that faith knows no boundaries. From legend to card\, from archetype to icon—an ancient voice rises: will you hear it?

SUMMARY:Prague Fringe: Rani and Rumi
DESCRIPTION:After a phenomenal international run of The Chai Queens at the Prague Fringe Festival and Colchester Fringe Festival\, earning honours including Best Queer Show and the Best Inspiration Award\, The Forbidden Productions returns with Rani and Rumi. \nTaranjit Kaur is back\, with an intimate solo performance that is fiercer\, funnier\, and more vulnerable than ever. When Rumi leaves without warning\, Rani is left with a house full of objects — a gift box\, red heels\, love letters — each heavy with memory. What do you hold on to when the person is gone? The shirt that still carries their scent? Or do you learn to let the objects go and carry only the love? \nDirected by Vansh Bhardwaj\, this tender exploration of love\, loss\, and the quiet war between clinging and release is raw\, poetic\, and deeply human — not just a play\, but an experience.

SUMMARY:Prague Fringe: Kaddish (How to be a Sanctuary)
DESCRIPTION:Care to learn how to curse in Yiddish and witness a reckoning between a Jewish grandson going to do solidarity work in Palestine and his long-passed on grandfather who fought the Nazis in World War II? “Kaddish (how to be a sanctury)” premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2025 was met with the prestigious Bobby Award by Broadway Baby who praised its “profound writing\, imaginative staging and precise direction” and its “[invitation] to listen to the moral inheritance of our ancestors.” The play uses the real archival journals of playwright/performer Sam’s grandpa Saul N. Sherman – a Jewish WWII vet from New Jersey and intersperses it with Sam’s own writing.  Sam and his dead grandpa have a conversation about everything from resisting fascism to growing up with mobsters – all with the help of a mystical creature from Yiddish folklore.

DESCRIPTION:A fantasy based upon a fiction\, finds Arthur Conan Doyle tiring of his intolerably arrogant Sherlock Holmes\, and inventing the arch villain\, Moriarty\, to dispose of him. \nBut Doyle’s dangerous strategy\, combined with his passion for raising the spirits of the dead\, has rather more surreal and dramatic consequences than he bargains for! \nA light-hearted and intriguing investigation of the consequences\, when fictional characters take on lives and ambitions of their own\, quite against the wishes of the author. \nIn this wryly humorous one man tale\, of murder\, mystery and the occult the world’s greatest detective refuses to leave the stage! \nStarring Nigel Miles-Thomas\, written by David Stuart Davies\, adapted for the stage and directed by Gareth Armstrong; with original music by Simon Slater.

SUMMARY:Prague Fringe: Deluge
DESCRIPTION:A comic exploration of grief\, inspired by a break-up and over 40 interviews gathered via a social media call-out. In the wake of a relationship\, a woman tries to contain the overflow of her thoughts… She ends up stuck on a ladder\, fighting komodo dragons\, house leaks\, holes and jam jars that only seem to multiply. Deluge puts a magical realist spin on dealing with and overcoming grief\, blurring imagination with real stories by invoking a surreal\, tender and humorous dreamscape. \n‘Intense physicality and irresistible charm’ **** “British Theatre Guide” \n‘Incredibly beautifully written’ **** “The Spy In The Stalls” \n‘An absurd\, tender\, and life-affirming piece that leaves a lasting impression… ’ ****½ “Youngish Perspective”

SUMMARY:Shut Up & Write! ve Skauťáku
DESCRIPTION:Shut Up & Write! — a worldwide phenomenon. No matter\, if you’re sixteen or sixty\, come and join us on a writing adventure! Anyone’s welcome! You don’t have to be an established author. In fact\, you don’t have to be an author at all! Join our laid‐back group on a Sunday afternoon\, and work on anything you desire. A novel\, a short story\, a screenplay\, a diary entry\, a scientific paper\, a poem\, a recipe\, a blogpost\, or maybe just an urgent e‐mail? Whatever it is that’s on your mind\, we’re here to silently support your efforts. You’ll find us every Sunday at high noon in one of the café back rooms — usually the first one. We gather\, grab some refreshments\, and around 12:15 start a short introductory round. Then we — as expected — Shut Up & Write! We write in two 45‐minute blocks with about 15‐minute break in between to stretch\, resupply\, or visit the bathroom. Perfect for networking too! At the end\, we have a short wrap‐up loop. Sometimes we stay and chat a bit afterwards\, share news\, ideas\, fresh thoughts… But we’re usually done even with that by 3 pm latest. Of course\, you’re free to leave anytime! Started by a San Francisco based sci‐fi writer Rennie Saunders in 2007\, based on years of experience\, and joined by over 10\,000 writers in over 400 cities in more than 60 countries worldwide. Now in Prague! Come try the magic of writing in a company. The primary communication language is English\, but you can write anything you want\, in any language you prefer. No sharing\, no critique\, no stress\, completely free. Participants can be assisted in Czech if necessary. ~~~ Shut Up & Write! (Zmlkni a piš!) — celosvětový fenomén. Román\, povídka\, scénář\, deníček\, vědecký článek\, báseň\, recept\, blog\, nebo třeba jen urgentní e‐mail? Ať už myslíš na cokoliv\, my tvé úsilí tiše podpoříme. Najdeš nás každou neděli v pravé poledne v jedné za zadních místností kavárny — obvykle té první. Sejdeme se\, dáme si něco dobrého\, a okolo 12:15 začneme krátké úvodní kolečko. Potom — dle očekávání — zmlkneme a píšeme!
