SUMMARY:Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
DESCRIPTION:Dr Felix Hoenikker\, one of the founding ‘fathers’ of the atomic bomb\, has left a deadly legacy to the world. For he’s the inventor of ‘ice-nine’\, a lethal chemical capable of freezing the entire planet. The search for its whereabouts leads to Hoenikker’s three ecentric children\, to a crazed dictator in the Caribbean\, to madness. Felix Hoenikker’s Death Wish comes true when his last\, fatal gift to humankind brings about the end\, that for all of us\, is nigh…

SUMMARY:TYGROO (10 let kapely) + hosté: Omnion & Trygve Wakenshaw
DESCRIPTION:Narozeniny nejsou jen tak! A desáté už vůbec ne! A my jsme je už měli. \n📍19:00 otevření lodi Cargo gallery🔥20:00 start akce \n🎟️Předprodej: 250 Kč (1.vlna prodeje\, kapacita 50 lístků)300 Kč (2.vlna prodeje\, kapacit 300 lístků)___________________TYGROOTygroo hrají na dechové nástroje a bicí. Džungle EDM beatů\, pichlavých balkánských melodií\, sarkastického rapu a nečekaných hudebních zvratů. Trans tepe\, subbass hněte\, žestě vřeští a lidé také. Horko je v kožichu i bez něj. Koncert začal. Tygr je v džungli doma. \nTygroo kombinuje tradiční žánry (klezmer\, Balkán) s moderní elektronickou taneční hudbou (EDM\, dubstep) a hip-hopem. Nová tvorba se posunula k temnější elektronice a trapovým vlivům\, přičemž sarkastický rap reflektuje lidská provinění \nObsazení kapely:Vojta Stolbenko – bicí\, abletonŠimon Janák – tuba\, trubka\, zpěvDavid Lomič – saxofony\, akordeon\, rapMatěj Heinzl – saxofony\, klarinet\, rapLadislav Štěrba – zvuk \nhttp://tygroo.com/http://facebook.com/tygroobandhttp://instagram.com/tygroo_music \nOMNIONJednočlenný-sebesmyčkovací-orchestr Tomáše Reindla. Inspirace prastarou posvátnou hudbou Východu i Západu ve spojení s novými možnostmi hudebních technologií. Real Time looping & processing\, tabla\, klarinet\, beat-box\, hlas\, alikvótní zpěv\, didjeridu\, kanjira\, trom-bone\, koncovka\, bluesová harmonika. http://omnion.cz/ \nTrygve Wakenshaw (NZ)Trygve Wakenshaw je oceňovaný umělec.

SUMMARY:Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo
DESCRIPTION:We usually discuss and arrange details in whatsapp – if you would like to join please message Lydia Titterington or email Prague Literary Calendar contact@pragueliterarycalendar.com\, and we can send you the link to join. \nA classic of Mexican modern literature about a haunted village. \nAs one enters Juan Rulfo’s legendary novel\, one follows a dusty road to a town of death. Time shifts from one consciousness to another in a hypnotic flow of dreams\, desires\, and memories\, a world of ghosts dominated by the figure of Pedro Páramo – lover\, overlord\, murderer. \nRulfo’s extraordinary mix of sensory images\, violent passions\, and unfathomable mysteries has been a profound influence on a whole generation of Latin American writers\, including Carlos Fuentes\, Mario Vargas Llosa\, and Gabriel García Márquez. To read Pedro Páramo today is as overwhelming an experience as when it was first published in Mexico back in 1955.

SUMMARY:Shut Up & Write! ve Skauťáku
DESCRIPTION:Shut Up & Write! — a worldwide phenomenon. No matter\, if you’re sixteen or sixty\, come and join us on a writing adventure! Anyone’s welcome! You don’t have to be an established author. In fact\, you don’t have to be an author at all! Join our laid‐back group on a Sunday afternoon\, and work on anything you desire. A novel\, a short story\, a screenplay\, a diary entry\, a scientific paper\, a poem\, a recipe\, a blogpost\, or maybe just an urgent e‐mail? Whatever it is that’s on your mind\, we’re here to silently support your efforts. \nYou’ll find us every Sunday at high noon in one of the café back rooms — usually the first one. We gather\, grab some refreshments\, and around 12:15 start a short introductory round. Then we — as expected — Shut Up & Write! We write in two 45‐minute blocks with about 15‐minute break in between to stretch\, resupply\, or visit the bathroom. Perfect for networking too! At the end\, we have a short wrap‐up loop. Sometimes we stay and chat a bit afterwards\, share news\, ideas\, fresh thoughts… But we’re usually done even with that by 3 pm latest. Of course\, you’re free to leave anytime! \nStarted by a San Francisco based sci‐fi writer Rennie Saunders in 2007\, based on years of experience\, and joined by over 10\,000 writers in over 400 cities in more than 60 countries worldwide. Now in Prague! Come try the magic of writing in a company. The primary communication language is English\, but you can write anything you want\, in any language you prefer. No sharing\, no critique\, no stress\, completely free. Participants can be assisted in Czech if necessary. \n~~~ \nShut Up & Write! (Zmlkni a piš!) Potom — dle očekávání — zmlkneme a píšeme! Nyní i v Praze!

SUMMARY:Peter Doherty (UK) - PRAGUE
Svou nejnovější desku Felt Better Alive přijede představit českému publiku už 3. května 2026 do klubu MeetFactory.

SUMMARY:Globe Creative Writing Group
DESCRIPTION:Globe Creative Writing Group was established in October of 2016. We meet weekly at the Globe Bookstore on Mondays from 19-21. \nFeel free to come by and introduce yourself\, whether or not your facebook request has been acknowledged by us. We receive many requests\, and prefer to accept those we know will contribute later on. :). \nWe are an eclectic group composed of various writers practising a range of techniques. We’ve so far been writing short fiction\, poetry\, essays\, genre fiction\, experimental prose\, surrealism\, playwriting\, screenwriting\, non-fiction as well as long-term projects. \nThis group relies on and sustains itself through thoughtful and productive critique. During our meetings\, we discuss each member’s submission (should they choose to submit that week) in depth. \n At the end of each meeting\, a prompt is assigned that we will base our submissions for the next week on. Transcending the prompt\, of course\, is always possible. If you would like feedback on a long-term project or a submission that isn’t related to the prompt\, feel free to do so. \n \nRules and Guidelines for Submissions: \n-To ensure everyone can give\, and get\, quality critiques\, we will review no more than 8 submissions per week. \n-Please submit by Saturday at the latest. As many of us have jobs\, families\, holidays etc.\, we need ample time to give thoughtful feedback and criticism to each submission. If you submit later than the Saturday deadline\, don’t worry! We can save your work to critique the next week. \n-If you do submit\, please be present at the meeting that your work will be critiqued. If you cannot make it\, please let the group know via the Facebook group. If we take the time to critique\, we want to know that you will be there to accept feedback. Again\, if you cannot make it\, we will save your submission for the next week. \n-Please do not submit work that is longer than 1\,500 words. We want to make sure everyone receives ample time to discuss and is not overwhelmed by the amount of content they will need to read. Because of this\, please try to adhere to a no more than 1\,500-word standard. \n \nAI Disclaimer \nWriters: If you’ve used AI in your work\, please inform us and tell us to what extent you have used AI. \nCritiques: Please refrain from using AI to assist in your critiques. We are sharing our work with others because we want your perspective. \nPrompts are meant to be broad in order to maximize creativity. We have had long-term projects devised from simple prompts and continue to! It’s a way for us to break free of our comfort zones as writers. Don’t be afraid! \nAs a group\, we also encourage publishing work\, whether it be in Prague or outside. Feel free to post any publishing opportunities you think would fit the group or anyone in it. So far we have had several prize winners and magazine publications from group members. This group is fundamentally about encouragement! \nAny other questions\, please send us a message on Facebook 🙂 \nHappy writing!

SUMMARY:Láska\, sex a žárlivost - 1. repríza
DESCRIPTION:HrajíJonáš Sýkora\, Filip Šesták\, Patricie Urbanová\, Tereza Veselá\, Františka Brzobohatá\, Hana Tomášová \nBernardova manželka ho podvádí. Jenže Bernardovi to vůbec nevadí – Bernard má totiž plán! \nMarc Camoletti\, autor slavné komedie Boeing Boeing\, napsal i další mistrnou hru plnou záměn\, tajností a brilantních trapasů. Divadlo Situace tentokrát sáhlo po komedii Láska\, sex a žárlivost\, která publikum na jeden večer přenese do světa lehce frivolních starostí pařížské smetánky. \nBernard\, Robert\, Jacqueline\, Juliette\, ta druhá „Juliette“ a nakonec i Marie-Louisa se postupně zamotávají do sítě milostných aférek\, tajných plánů a drobných pomst. A zatímco se všichni snaží zachovat dekorum a tvářit se\, že jde jen o obyčejný večírek u manželů Marcelinových\, situace se čím dál víc komplikuje. \nMarc Camoletti jim to totiž rozhodně nenapsal jednoduše. Přijďte se proto pobavit – trochu na jejich účet a trochu s nimi.

SUMMARY:Poetry Talks Prague - Good Enough
DESCRIPTION:We will read and discuss the poems at the bottom. \nEmail: contact@pragueliterarycalendar.com\nFacebook: Post to this event page.\nSubmissions will be shared on the Prague Literary Calendar for our group to read and discuss. \nI’ve put this event to happen at a cafe\, I simply just book a table a day or so before the event. If you do want to come please write in anyway you can to Lydia Titterington\, so that I can make sure we have enough room for you. If there are too many people I will need to change the location. \nAbout Poetry Talks Prague\nPoetry Talks Prague brings people from all backgrounds together. We use poetry to find tools for the hardships of life. The discussion guides us to different directions; you do not need to be proficient in poetry\, just be curious and open. We welcome all people who respect others\, if you have any questions\, you can write to contact@pragueliterarycalendar.com \n___________________________ \n\n\n\nPersonal Poem By Frank O’Hara \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNow when I walk around at lunchtime\nI have only two charms in my pocket\nan old Roman coin Mike Kanemitsu gave me\nand a bolt-head that broke off a packing case\nwhen I was in Madrid the others never\nbrought me too much luck though they did\nhelp keep me in New York against coercion\nbut now I’m happy for a time and interested\n\nI walk through the luminous humidity\npassing the House of Seagram with its wet\nand its loungers and the construction to\nthe left that closed the sidewalk if\nI ever get to be a construction worker\nI’d like to have a silver hat please\nand get to Moriarty’s where I wait for\nLeRoi and hear who wants to be a mover and\nshaker the last five years my batting average\nis .016 that’s that\, and LeRoi comes in\nand tells me Miles Davis was clubbed 12\ntimes last night outside birdland by a cop\na lady asks us for a nickel for a terrible\ndisease but we don’t give her one we\ndon’t like terrible diseases\, then\n\nwe go eat some fish and some ale it’s\ncool but crowded we don’t like Lionel Trilling\nwe decide\, we like Don Allen we don’t like\nHenry James so much we like Herman Melville\nwe don’t want to be in the poets’ walk in\nSan Francisco even we just want to be rich\nand walk on girders in our silver hats\nI wonder if one person out of the 8\,000\,000 is\nthinking of me as I shake hands with LeRoi\nand buy a strap for my wristwatch and go\nback to work happy at the thought possibly so\n__________________________________ \n\n\n\nOn a Walk By Heather Christle\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMy child is upset that they cannot jump over their shadow.\nThey want me to help them. They want me to teach them\nhow it’s done. The best I can do is an invitation\n\nto jump over each other’s shadows instead. This satisfies them\nfor a moment and then the moment is gone. In sunlight\nmy shadow loves to give me a little dose of sorrow\,\n\nthe beams having traveled so far only for the lump of me\nto get between them and the ground. They came so close.\nIf I were the earth I would resent me too. My child\n\nhas gone into the next moment. I have to catch up. They say\nthey are riding a horse. They point and it drags them away.\n___________________________________________ \n\n\n\nLearning the Trees By Howard Nemerov \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBefore you can learn the trees\, you have to learn\nThe language of the trees. That’s done indoors\,\nOut of a book\, which now you think of it\nIs one of the transformations of a tree.\n\nThe words themselves are a delight to learn\,\nYou might be in a foreign land of terms\nLike samara\, capsule\, drupe\, legume and pome\,\nWhere bark is papery\, plated\, warty or smooth.\n\nBut best of all are the words that shape the leaves—\nOrbicular\, cordate\, cleft and reniform—\nAnd their venation—palmate and parallel—\nAnd tips—acute\, truncate\, auriculate.\n\nSufficiently provided\, you may now\nGo forth to the forests and the shady streets\nTo see how the chaos of experience\nAnswers to catalogue and category.\n\nConfusedly. The leaves of a single tree\nMay differ among themselves more than they do\nFrom other species\, so you have to find\,\nAll blandly says the book\, “an average leaf.”\n\nExample\, the catalpa in the book\nSprays out its leaves in whorls of three\nAround the stem; the one in front of you\nBut rarely does\, or somewhat\, or almost;\n\nMaybe it’s not catalpa? Dreadful doubt.\nIt may be weeks before you see an elm\nFanlike in form\, a spruce that pyramids\,\nA sweetgum spiring up in steeple shape.\n\nStill\, pedetemtim as Lucretius says\,\nLittle by little\, you do start to learn;\nAnd learn as well\, maybe\, what language does\nAnd how it does it\, cutting across the world\n\nNot always at the joints\, competing with\nExperience while cooperating with\nExperience\, and keeping an obstinate\nIntransigence\, uncanny\, of its own.\n\nThink finally about the secret will\nPretending obedience to Nature\, but\nInvidiously distinguishing everywhere\,\nDividing up the world to conquer it\,\n\nAnd think also how funny knowledge is:\nYou may succeed in learning many trees\nAnd calling off their names as you go by\,\nBut their comprehensive silence stays the same.\n______________________________________ \n\n\n\nI Am an Atheist Who Says His Prayers By Karl Shapiro \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI am an atheist who says his prayers.\n\nI am an anarchist\, and a full professor at that. I take the loyalty oath.\n\nI am a deviate. I fondle and contribute\, backscuttle and brown\, father of three.\n\nI stand high in the community. My name is in Who’s Who. People argue about my modesty.\n\nI drink my share and yours and never have enough. I free-load officially and unofficially.\n\nA physical coward\, I take on all intellectuals\, established poets\, popes\, rabbis\, chiefs of staff.\n\nI am a mystic. I will take an oath that I have seen the Virgin. Under the dry pandanus\, to the scratching of kangaroo rats\, I achieve psychic onanism. My tree of nerves electrocutes itself.\n\nI uphold the image of America and force my luck. I write my own ticket to oblivion.\n\nI am of the race wrecked by success. The audience brings me news of my death. I write out of boredom\, despise solemnity. The wrong reason is good enough for me.\n\nI am of the race of the prematurely desperate. In poverty of comfort I lay gunpowder plots. I lapse my insurance.\n\nI am the Babbitt metal of the future. I never read more than half of a book. But that half I read forever.\n\nI love the palimpsest\, statues without heads\, fertility dolls of the continent of Mu. I dream prehistory\, the invention of dye. The palms of the dancers’ hands are vermillion. Their heads oscillate like the cobra. High-caste woman smelling of earth and silk\, you can dry my feet with your hair.\n\nI take my place beside the Philistine and unfold my napkin. This afternoon I defend the Marines. I goggle at long cars.\n\nWithout compassion I attack the insane. Give them the horsewhip!\n\nThe homosexual lectures me brilliantly in the beer booth. I can feel my muscles soften. He smiles at my terror.\n\nPitchpots flicker in the lemon groves. I gaze down on the plains of Hollywood. My fine tan and my arrogance\, my gray hair and my sneakers\, O Israel!\n\nWherever I am I become. The power of entry is with me. In the doctor’s office a patient\, calm and humiliated. In the foreign movies a native\, shabby enough. In the art gallery a person of authority (there’s a secret way of approaching a picture. Others move off). The high official insults me to my face. I say nothing and accept the job. He offers me whiskey.\n\nHow beautifully I fake! I convince myself with men’s room jokes and epigrams. I paint myself into a corner and escape on pulleys of the unknown. Whatever I think at the moment is true. Turn me around in my tracks; I will take your side.\n\nFor the rest\, I improvise and am not spiteful and water the plants on the cocktail table.\n\n\n\n\n\n______________________________________________ \n\n\n\nMother to Son By Langston Hughes \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWell\, son\, I’ll tell you:\nLife for me ain’t been no crystal stair.\nIt’s had tacks in it\,\nAnd splinters\,\nAnd boards torn up\,\nAnd places with no carpet on the floor—\nBare.\nBut all the time\nI’se been a-climbin’ on\,\nAnd reachin’ landin’s\,\nAnd turnin’ corners\,\nAnd sometimes goin’ in the dark\nWhere there ain’t been no light.\nSo boy\, don’t you turn back.\nDon’t you set down on the steps\n’Cause you finds it’s kinder hard.\nDon’t you fall now—\nFor I’se still goin’\, honey\,\nI’se still climbin’\,\nAnd life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.\n\n\n\n\n\n________________________________ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:U konce s dechem (1960) - Francouzská nová vlna v Klubovně
DESCRIPTION:🇫🇷 Francouzská nová vlna? Co to jeee?Tuhle otázku\, kterou si zajisté klade každý z nás\, vám zodpoví filmový klub v Klubovně. \nPromítáme U konce s dechem – legendární nestárnoucí debut Jeana-Luca Godarda. \nJednoduchý příběh o krádeži auta\, následné vraždě a útěku překvapuje formální vytříbeností a bezprostředním vyprávěním a fragmentárností. \nTéměř závratné tempo příběhu o přitažlivém rebelovi\, okouzlujícím a ležérním vrahu na útěku představuje odvetu mladé filmařské generace úzkoprsé společnosti… \nNeúnavný rebel a experimentátor Jean-Luc Godard posílá vycházející hvězdu Belmonda na osudnou štafetu v ulicích Paříže. \nPastiš filmových žánrů v originální filmové koláži-dekonstrukci. \nRežisér si nenuceně pohrává s žánrovými klišé a hlásí se k anarchistickému okouzlení zločinem\, sexem\, násilím. \nSotva se totiž Godardův hrdina nadechne\, pokud mu to závratné tempo a těkající kamera umožní\, již chcípá na bílé laině ulice.

Gunderson Festival of plays: the explosive and brutal comedy – THE REVOLUTIONISTS. THE REVOLUTIONISTS is a whirling fantasia of a tale about four fiery\, renegade women whose lives collide during the French Revolution. At the height of the Reign of Terror\, playwright Olympe de Gouges\, assassin Charlotte Corday\, activist Marianne Angelle\, and former queen Marie Antoinette plot murder\, try to beat back extremist insanity in Paris\, and explore how we actually go about changing the world in this irreverent\, brutal comedy. \nStarring Elissa Levitt\, Fedorah Philippeaux\, and Bree Welch as Marie Antoinette. \nRole available: Please note that breakdowns are a description of the character\, not necessarily the actor who will play that character.Actors are encouraged to audition for any role in which they are interested. \nCharlotte Corday. Age 25. Badass country girl and assassin. Very serious\, hardened by righteousness. Never been kissed. \nI AND YOUPrague Shakespeare Company is excited to present the second production in our 2026 Lauren M. Gunderson Festival of plays: an ode to youth\, life\, love\, and the strange beauty of human connectedness: I AND YOU. One afternoon\, Anthony arrives unexpectedly at classmate Caroline’s door bearing a beat-up copy of Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass\, an urgent assignment from their English teacher. Homebound due to illness\, Caroline hasn’t been to school in months\, but she is as quick and sardonic as Anthony is athletic\, sensitive\, and popular. As these two let down their guards and share their secrets\, this seemingly mundane poetry project unlocks a much deeper mystery that has brought them together. \nRoles available: Please note that breakdowns are a description of the character\, not necessarily the actor who will play that character.Actors are encouraged to audition for any role in which they are interested. The race of each character can be altered. The only essentiality is that the characters are not the same race. \nANTHONY\, a boy\, 17. He is neat\, poised\, mature for his age. African-American. He’s an “a” student\, a team player\, a nice guy. He’s not really great around girls. he takes his homework very seriously. when he likes something (jazz music) he is all in. Throughout the whole play he looks at Caroline like he’s trying to figure her out. Like he really needs to know who she is. \nCAROLINE\, a girl\, 17. She is in comfy clothing\, she does not expect company\, she is sick but mainly just looks a little weak and frumpy. She doesn’t go out. She is cynical\, over it\, does not let a stray “feeling” near the surface. White. \nARTEMISIAPrague Shakespeare Company is excited to present the third production in our 2026 Lauren M. Gunderson Festival of plays: ARTEMISIA. Artemisia Gentileschi was the most celebrated female painter of the 17th century\, yet her name was all but lost for centuries. Attacked at just seventeen\, publicly shamed and tortured to prove her truth\, Gentileschi nevertheless fought for her art and the freedom to make it on her own terms. Always contending with her father\, consumed with passion for her lover\, and ferociously devoted to her children\, Artemisia is a modern woman before her time. Artemisia is a work of humor and warmth that celebrates the courage\, artistry\, and humanity of a woman who attacked the glass ceiling with every brush stroke. \nRoles available: Please note that breakdowns are a description of the character\, not necessarily the actor who will play that character.Actors are encouraged to audition for any role in which they are interested. \nArtemisia Gentileschi – (17) feisty\, smart\, strong\, confident\, frustrated\, stuck — Artemisia stands as a woman ahead of her era\, her extraordinary talents and unwavering commitment to her art transcending the conventional boundaries imposed upon women. Fearlessly diving into confrontations and unapologetically speaking her mind\, she exudes an undeniable force. Doubles as: Prudenzia \nFiglia – (16-20s) her daughter\, sweet natured and mischievous — though perhaps in the shadow of her mother’s fierce spirit\, she doesn’t seem bothered. She embodies a love that carries a lighter touch. Unlike her mother\, she has been fortunate to escape the same suffering\, benefiting from a new time with new opportunities and a greater degree of freedom. Yet\, in her own unique manner\, she radiates a captivating force – a force that is gentler in touch but resounds louder in its own right. \nArtemesia Madre – (30s-50) feistier\, smarter\, stronger\, more confident\, quick-witted\, fierce\, talented\, pioneering\, intelligent — now in the later chapters of her life\, has evolved into a more grounded version of her quick-witted and fiery younger self (though there’s plenty of that still there). Her years have only deepened her talents and pioneering spirit\, making her a figure of profound intelligence and strength. She has been through many deep hardships in her life—she is not naive to believe those are over. \nPrudenzia Madre – (40s) her mother – kind and steady\, watchful\, loyal\, patient — She is a watchful presence\, offering unwavering loyalty and patience to those she holds dear. With a heart that remains steadfast and a caring eye that never wavers\, she is a comforting and supportive force in Artemisia’s life. Doubles as: Grand Duchess Christina of Lorraine\, hilarious and flighty\, commands every room she walks into\, intoxicating — is a captivating presence\, known for her infectious humor and flighty nature. With every step she takes\, she effortlessly commands the attention of the room\, leaving those around her enchanted by her intoxicating charm and wit. She\, too\, is a formidable woman adept at making the male-dominated world pay attention and bend. \nOrazio – (40s-60s) her father – a talented and famous painter. He shares Artemisia’s strong-willed nature but leans towards a more brutish demeanor—he is often concerned with how he and the family appear to others. He carries an underlying sense of frustration\, having very little ability to understand a daughter like Artemisia— though he recognizes her talent. \nFrancesco – (40s) Passionate\, loyal\, emotional — stands as a devoted lover\, friend\, and confidant to Artemisia. He is a genuinely good-hearted individual\, brimming with passion\, unwavering loyalty\, and deep emotional sensitivity. His unwavering support and compassion make him a pillar of strength in Artemisia’s life. A really good guy. \nMISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMERBLEYA sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice set two years after the novel ends\, Miss Bennet continues the story\, only this time with bookish middle-sister Mary as it’s unlikely heroine. Mary is growing tired of her role as dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings’ romantic escapades. When the family gathers for Christmas at Pemberley\, an unexpected guest sparks Mary’s hopes for independence\, an intellectual match\, and possibly even love. \nDirected by Elissa Levitt \nRoles available: Please note that breakdowns are a description of the character\, not necessarily the actor who will play that character.Actors are encouraged to audition for any role in which they are interested. \nCHARACTERS (age of character\, not necessarily the required age of the actor): \nMary Bennet (20). Intelligent\, curious and lively. Not the plain boring girl she once was. She does not suffer fools. She may or may not be playing piano on stage\, so there is a preference for someone with some piano playing aptitude. \nArthur deBourgh (25). Studious\, awkward around women and large families. Prefers books to people. Recently inherited a large estate and has no idea what to do next. \nElizabeth Darcy (22). Married to Mr. Darcy. Confident\, charming and witty\, she is a fun lady of the house\, who adores her sister\, Jane. \nFitzwilliam Darcy (30). Loving\, generous and smart (also very proper and a bit stiff.) Husband to Elizabeth. \nJane Bingley (24). Oldest Bennet daughter\, married to Mr Bingley. Sweet\, kind\, and optimistic. Also 7 months pregnant. \nCharles Bingley (25). Gracious\, happy\, always ready with a smile. Totally focused on Jane\, the love of his life. \nLydia Wickham (17). Flirtatious\, coy\, and self-centered. Her marriage to Mr. Wickham is a sham\, but she will not admit it. \nAnne deBourgh (20s). Only daughter of the late Catherine deBourgh. Entitled\, judgmental\, and impatient. \nTHE WOLVESLeft quad. Right quad. Lunge. A girls indoor soccer team warms up. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle\, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. A portrait of life\, liberty\, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals. \nDirected by Genevieve Gionet \nRoles available: THE WOLVES requires nine diverse female-identifying actors to play skilled high school soccer players. Soccer playing experience is not required but is a plus. The actors must train to learn the soccer skills required for the show. There is an additional role for a soccer mom\, mother to one of the players\, who only appears in the final scene\, but who plays a pivotal role. The soccer mom needs no soccer skills. One character removes her shirt on stage (ala soccer great Brandi Chastain) and appears in a sports bra in one scene. Note that there is explicit dialogue and profanity in the play. Please note that breakdowns are a description of the character\, not necessarily the actor who will play that character.Actors are encouraged to audition for any role in which they are interested. \n#11: Midfield. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook\, however\, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies\, nasty ogres\, and 90s pop culture\, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all. \nRoles available: All actors may play monsters and handle puppets and weapons as needed. SUMMARY:Astrachan (US) // Roksan Mandel (TR) // ÖKNÖ (CZ)
DESCRIPTION:Astrachan is the surname and solo project of Chicago-based musician Ben Astrachan\, whose boisterous and joyous rock-and-roll weaves together the artisanal folk of old masters like Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam) with the shapeshifting indie of new-age acts like Daniel Romano. \nOn ‘Signs’ (slated for release on Happen Twice in October)\, Astrachan dips his ladle into a great borscht of mystical and political influence to serve up a kaleidoscopic brew of anti-Zionist\, Bundist\, diasporic indie rock\, self-produced in the candlelit haze of his all-analog basement-bedroom studio. ‘Signs’ is a hymnal to the madness of the Jewish prophets who railed against the follies of the Nation and were banished into spiritual wilderness. It deals with apocalypse in the original sense (revelation\, “un-covering”)\, and asks\, what does it mean to be conscripted in a cosmic war? How do we walk the tightrope of justice and peace? And when G-d winks at us through the veil\, are we ready to respond? \nIn addition to his eponymous solo project\, Astrachan lends his boyish charm and polytechnic abilities to his shared duos Berta Bigtoe (with Austin Koenigstein) and Astro Heart (with Ryan Gebhardt)\, as well as Smushie\, No Lonesome\, Pyzow!\, Rudy De Anda\, Butthole\, Shoulderbird and more. https://astrachan2.bandzoogle.com/https://linktr.ee/astrachanmusic \nThe evening will kick off with an opening by Roksan Mandel.Roksan Mandel is a Turkish pianist and vocalist based in Prague\, that blends jazz influences with soulful melodies in her original compositions and heartfelt renditions of Turkish pop/rock classics.Roksan Mandel links:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/4r08jgVRB7vnG64OoRRGv5…Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/roksanmandel/ \nThe night will finish off with ÖKNÖ – more info coming soon \nEntry/ VstupMusic from 21.hCash is best for entry fee. Nyní i v Praze!
