Topic:
“Just high”: exploring endogenously induced psychedelic-like states

Abstract:
Psychedelic substances induce robust short-term and more subtle but lasting changes in brain, that are related to profound subjective experiences and medicinal effects when introduced in appropriate conditions. These effects, however, are produced by the same old neural systems, which sustain our casual body regulation and conscious experiences. So what is the closest we can get to reproducing the mind-manifesting chemistry without consuming the substance? What subjective experiences related to psychedelic use can happen without them? And when does it happen?
Let’s try and look into these questions together!
